Hahahaha! This is a hilarious quote by one of my favourite comedians. Robin Williams still makes me laugh in Mrs Doubtfire even though I’ve seen it heaps of times! But here’s a question to come out of this quote: are all gay men interior-decoratingly gifted?
We know that the media make out that this is true. We can see it through the portrayal of gay men in movies and TV shows (e.g. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) but is it possible for gay men to be messy and clueless about decorating? I really doubt that being a great decorator is a prerequisite for being gay, but maybe it’s that when men come out of the closet they believe they have to force themselves into the stereotype? That they have to rearrange their furniture, use more beauty products than their women friends and start speaking with a “Daahhhhling!” accent perhaps?
