New webmaster

Dear Reader,
This weblog has a new webmaster. From this week onwards I will start adding posts to this blog, true to the title 'Famous Quotes'. My intention is to add a quote, followed by a few paragraphs outlining my thoughts on that quote, or just some interesting background about where the quote originates from, how it became so famous etc.
As it's easy enough to copy and paste from the many sites with famous quotes, I will only add famous quotes I have something to say about. But I will also use less famous quotes, or quotes that most people have never heard of. Great lines I discover in the many books and articles I read on a daily basis, things I pick up from tv or the street, lines that are not famous yet but that may become famous one day.
The lines I choose will reflect the things I'm most passionate about: books - novels, stories, essays, philosophy, poetry, biography and (to a lesser extent) politics -, music, movies, etc. I intend to add three posts every week: philosophy, great writers, challenging thoughts or simply fascinating or humorous quotes, thereby steering away from that stifling curse in modern society I hate with a passion: political correctness. And whenever I use quotes favorites like Mae West, W.C. Fields or Oscar Wilde, I will try to find lines that are less familiar to the general public.
Mondays and Fridays will be about anything that comes to mind, with some afterthought added in extra paragraphs, while I reserve - for now - Wednesdays for the great oneliners.
Hope to see you back soon!
