Walt Disney - Mickey Mouse

“I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse.” - Walt Disney
The Walt Disney Company was co-founded by Walt, with his brother Roy, in 1923. Disney has had some great films and I think that teaming up with Pixar in recent years was a great idea. How funny is Finding Nemo!? Not to mention Toy Story, A Bug’s Life and the others. But I just love the classic Disney cartoons, especially the Silly Symphonies. (Do you remember The Cookie Carnival? Wasn’t it just scrumptious?!) And who would forget Steamboat Willie, the first Disney animated film with sound.
With this quote, I’m guessing that when Walt Disney says “it was all started by a mouse” he is referring to the beginnings of success for The Walt Disney Company. Some cartoons preceded the ubiquitous mouse, such as Alices’ Wonderland and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (who looked like Mickey but with longer ears).
According to Wikipedia, Walt Disney was actually cremated in 1966 following a cardiac arrest, conflicting with the common misconception that he was cryogenically frozen.
