Margaret Mitchell - Bad TV

“I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken - and I'd rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as I lived.” - Margaret Mitchell
What instantly comes to my mind when I read this quote is when TV shows go bad. For example, Absolutely Fabulous and Kath & Kim were both hilarious shows but just became less funny over the seasons. I think it’s a much better idea to just stop making episodes (as I’m pretty sure they both have) instead of making mindless drivel. Same thing goes for movies, like Miss Congeniality. The first movie, I thought, was great. But Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous was just hopeless; no plot, no sense, and worst of all - not funny.
I say if shows can’t go out with a bang, they should at least end retaining some sort of wit so viewers don’t start despising the show and forgetting it was ever any good.
