Lord Chesterfield give us a break!

“Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness, no delay, no procrastination; never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.” – Lord Chesterfield
Very well said Lord Chesterfield. It’s just that sometimes you just can’t be bothered. If you’ve got a uni assignment to do which is due two weeks from now, why can’t it wait another day so you can bludge and watch ER? All of these big profound quotes are all very good to keep in mind, but I reckon if we abided by them all the time, we’d drive ourselves (and others around us) crazy!
If we were to live by the above quote for example, we should: get up at 5am every morning to go for a run to make us fitter and stronger, give full attention in lectures at uni (which is impossible with the average student attention span and lack of interesting lecturers), in between lectures collect money for charity, and play rugby after uni before working on an assignment until it’s fully complete (but heaven knows when this will be!?).
We need time to veg out Lord Chesterfield. Give us a break, we’ll seize later…
