Jerry Seinfield & Public Speaking

FUNNY QUOTE
“A recent survey stated that the average person's greatest fear is having to give a speech in public. Somehow this ranked even higher than death which was third on the list. So, you're telling me that at a funeral, most people would rather be the guy in the coffin than have to stand up and give a eulogy.” - Jerry Seinfield
On’ya Jerry! Now I’m not really a fan of Seinfield, his lame American sitcom pains me – but this quote has some merit. I hate giving public speeches! I always try to be the confident type who barely glances at her palm cards but I find security in them… looking down at something I know will get me through the agonising process, rather than glancing at the scary faces of the classroom.
Anyway I think Jerry went a little far at the end of his quote… it’s the fear of dying that doesn’t scare people as much as public speaking – not the fear of actually being dead. Once you’re dead you’d probably soon get used to it.
