Goofy and Adlai E. Stevenson

Quote of the Day...
"A wise man who stands firm is a statesman; a foolish man who stands firm is a catastrophe.” - Adlai E. Stevenson
Adlai Stevenson was a congressman himself and is telling us here that the foolish cannot stand and be called a statesman. I know a lot of you are thinking… “Yeah, but what about George W. Bush?” – Well I’m going to choose not to comment there and leave the readers to initiate some argument in that area!
When I read this quote, all I can think of is Disney’s character Goofy because whenever he tries to voice his opinion, or even when he talks in general he sounds like a blabbering mess. Here’s another quote - it is what acclaimed Disney animator and creator of Goofy, Art Babbitt had to say about his character: “Think of the Goof as a composite of an everlasting optimist, a gullible Good Samaritan, a halfwit and a shiftless, good-natured hick. He is loose-jointed and gangly, but not rubbery.”
A good analysis of goofy, who in my opinion, hopefully will never become a statesman.
