Francois De La Rochefoucauld - Practice What You P

We may give advice, but not have the sense to use it.
~ Francois De La Rochefoucauld - [Advice]
de La Rochefoucauld was a noted French author of maxims and memoirs, as well as an example of the accomplished 17th-century nobleman. This quote reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, when she is lost and sings “I give myself… very good advice… but I very seldom, follow it.” Does any other classic Disney fan remember this quote off the top of their head? I loved that movie.
Anyway, I’m sure many of us do follow these quotes without even knowing. How many times have you told someone who’s driving you around to slow down and later you realise that you speed in that area as well? A typical example around the house is asking someone to help you clean up, but then the next day or whatever you’re the one slacking off! We do this all the time. It’s because it’s easier to lecture people to get something done than actually doing it ourselves. We really should learn to practice what we preach.
