David Sarnoff was the General Manager of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) from its founding in 1919 to his retirement in 1970. He ruled over an ever-growing radio and electronics empire that became one of the largest companies in the world.
Knowing this about Sarnoff, I’m assuming his statement refers to the radio as a machine. Although it is obvious that in today’s age of computers his quote still applies. I mean, we must give the comptuer problems and intelligence for it to be artificially intelligent on its own. For electronic machines to work we must be the inputter, I guess… until machines take over the planet!
If we keep fueling technological development and innovation we are sure to end up with an A.I. revolution on our hands like in I, Robot or The Matrix. But we can’t just stop learning can we? Humans are designed to be inquisitive and Americans are designed to know everything, so a revolution is inevitable! But hopefully it will take place after our time; our kids will work something out I’m sure…
