Children - Sit Down and Shut-Up
July 11th 2006 08:13
“Children: You spend the first 2 years of their life teaching
them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 16 years
telling them to sit down and shut-up.” – Anonymous
That’s for sure. But I think you just have to let kids be kids. They’re going to want to stand up and ask questions and discover new things – that’s why they’re kids. When I have children, I’d much prefer to have an interesting, inquisitive child that stands up and makes things happen, rather than one of those seemingly shy snot-nosed brats who always have that sour look and are keen on sobbing in the corner of the classroom.
Those sorts of kids remind of cats; they’re a sly bunch and are always manipulating adults for their affection. In the words of Pauline Hanson: “I don’t like it.”
