Chaos & M.C. Escher's Drawings

"We adore chaos because we love to produce order." – M.C. Escher
We’ve all seen M.C. Escher’s work - his often mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs and mezzotints which feature impossible constructions. There was one such piece called Relativity which has a bunch of stairs going in all directions, all in their own 2 dimensions but which intertwine with one another. Another work, entitled Waterfall features water that seems to flow upwards.
With his mathematical tricks in his artworks, M.C. Estcher attempts to produce order from otherwise chaotic events. For example, stairs aren’t meant to be going every which way but he draws it as though they join up perfectly.
On another note, this quote reminds me of my Mum. She seems to feed off the chaos she faces at work as though she just loves the adrenaline rush. But she is a bit of a control freak so maybe she is just aiming to put some order into her workday situations.
