Beware the TV...

“Don’t you wish there were a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence? There’s one marked ‘brightness’, but that doesn’t work”- Gallagher
Now I’m not sure which Gallagher gave this quote; it could have been a literary critic, an actor or stand up comedian - the author is just known as Gallagher. But whoever it was, I think they’re a genius. Ok, there are some, and I mean some things worth watching on TV. For example, Catalyst, ER, Family Guy, The Simpsons and any British documentary or comedy. But most of the viewing is utter commercial crud.
I mean, what can people learn from Big Brother, Home and Away, Entertainment Tonight or Desperate Houswives? Yes, that’s right, a chick against Desperate Housewives. I used to watch it because I got sucked in like all the other girls wanting a replacement for Sex and The City – it failed miserably of course, what a load of crudbucket!
Think about what else you could be doing when you choose to devote an hour to some useless program that’s just going to waste your time or make you stupider. Go for a walk, read something interesting – be healthy and learn!
