Bernard Meltzer - Make The Most of Your Talents

June 13th 2006 23:06
“Use those talents you have. You will make it. You will give joy to the world. Take this tip from nature: The woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except those who sang best.” - Bernard Meltzer

Bernard Meltzer (born 1917, died March 25, 1998) was a United States radio host for several decades. His long-running advice call-in show was called "What's Your Problem?".
Go ahead! Just use those talents you have!

I like this quote, especially the last line. I reckon we can all relate to using ‘the talents you have’. For example, I bought a cello the other day off eBay, now I know I’m pretty rusty at the moment (I swear, it’s the hardest instrument you’ll ever play!) but I’m really trying! Now that I've got this quote as an excuse, I think I’ll just tell my grieving parents: “The woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except those who sang best.”
